Faith
St. Francis Peace Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
Catholic Activities
Weekly Mass
PreK3 through 8th grade students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members attend weekly Mass every Wednesday morning. Students lead and participate in Mass by singing in the choir, playing percussion, and serving as altar servers, lectors, and gift bearers. All students have the opportunity to receive a blessing or the Eucharist.
Service & Servant Leadership
We encourage our students to be servant leaders and people who continually ask, "How can I help?" We help children understand and experience the importance of carrying out the Church's mission of serving in their families, in the school, and in the community. We organize opportunities for direct and indirect service through canned food drive and CRS Rice Bowl (Change for Change) collections, community cleanups, gardening projects, engaging with Catholic Charities and the St. Camillus Food Pantry, and simple acts of helping one another.
Catholic Feast Celebrations
We have a focus on learning about the lives and virtues of Catholic saints, and we celebrate the liturgical seasons of the Catholic Church regularly as a school community. Some of our longstanding celebrations center around St. Francis' feast day, All Saints Day, Dia de los Muertos, St. Nicholas Day, las Posadas, Stations of the Cross, and an international rosary and May Crowning in celebration of Mary.
